Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't so good in removing debris such as metal screws or chunks of pasta. However, they are amazing at cleaning pet hair, dust, and crumbs. The best models feature smart navigation technology and object avoidance features which allow them to navigate around cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a great robot vacuum that has a variety of clever features that make it much easier to maintain than most competing models. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most efficient features we've seen on a robot, and it works well on both hard floors and carpets. It's also easy to install and use and the app will guide you step-by-step through the process. Its ability to restart the same place it left off during our tests is a great feature. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before the battery was exhausted.
The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums that we tested comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment on its charging base once it is full. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs we've reviewed, but it is not the best in cleaning corners and edges. It's also more abrasive on furniture despite being relatively silent. It pushed chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our bed, and was stuck to cords and toys while testing.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
Whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or are just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs powerful power, smart navigation, and handy automation into a sleek and stylish design at an affordable price. It's the best value for the money available at the moment, and it even matches other Roborock models which are much more expensive in a variety of ways.
This robot does an excellent job of cleaning floors with no dust and its avoidance system assists it in avoiding furniture legs and other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and scores the highest score on our tests of navigation. The only snag is that it's a little more raucous than the other models we test and it doesn't do as well in our owners satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust container of 770ml, meaning that you won't need to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The 240-minute runtime is extremely generous when compared to other models we've tried. If the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock where it recharges and resumes cleaning where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This, in conjunction with other innovations, helps it excel in our mopping and vacuuming tests. It allows you to schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones, and view the battery's condition among other things. The app is easy to use, but it doesn't support Apple HomeKit; that feature is slated to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in November of this year to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
The TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic option if you're searching for a robot that can mop as well and is reasonably priced. It comes with a plethora of features at a reasonable cost and features a stylish design. It can be controlled using the buttons on the device, via the app or even using voice commands. The device is battery-powered and the vacuum container is able to automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a great job at vacuuming standard messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with a replacement mopping cloth and sweeper brush, as well as a HEPA filter. It can be connected to smart hubs such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide voice control. The well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
The model is equipped with an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map out your home and devise efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was rated highly for its accuracy and navigation. It also did an excellent job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It also has the ability to locate its way back to the base station which is a great feature in the event it's running out of battery during cleaning.
It also has a spot cleaning mode that lets you to clean or mop an area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a specific path, which is beneficial in narrow staircases or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test, it performed well cleaning carpets. However, it was unable to clean carpets and rugs with thick piles. It can also be set to automatically raise the mop pad whenever it comes into contact with carpet, which is a fantastic option if you wish to avoid mowing your carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dust container and a water tank which it is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. robotvacuummops that is onboard can hold up to 2.5 Liters of debris and will only require emptying after a couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank can withstand about a dozen mopping sessions before it is dry.
